Gandhi Tribute in Amsterdam Brings Peace Advocates Together
Representatives of civil society, human rights groups and faith communities met in Amsterdam for a commemoration of Gandhi’s legacy, bringing together the Gandhi Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around Gandhian principles of peace, compassion and respect for human dignity.
The gathering, held at Amsterdam’s Gandhi statue, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. Discussions also explored future cooperation in educating young people about fundamental human rights.
The Church of Scientology’s support for human rights education is rooted in the humanitarian work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human rights.
